Stephen was born on January 13, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William Edward Gittings and Vitula Mae Lewis Gittings. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita Louise Stanton Gittings and his brother, Kevin Gittings.
Left to cherish Stephen's memory are his children, Sherry Joseph (Rufus) and Steven Gittings (Greg); grandsons, Keyan Gittings and Cameron Joseph (Madeline); great-grandson, Denver Lamar Gittings; great-granddaughter, Hasley Lynn Joseph; his beloved great grand-fur babies, Moo Moo, Lillie and Lucy; siblings, Daniel Gittings (Rhonda), William Gittings (Clara), Mike Gittings (Susie), Elmer Gittings and Carrie Shufeldt (Nick).
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40213, with a service to honor the life of Stephen to follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Stephen will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
