Doug was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service and formerly worked as a route manager at The Courier-Journal.
He was preceded in rest by his mother, Doris McCorkle.
Doug is survived by his father, Houston McCorkle; a brother, Lee Mont McCorkle; a sister, Mary Mann; and a close friend, Lea Onstott.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway.
