Stephen lived a short life. He was 39 years old at the time of his untimely departure.
Stephen was the cherished son of Robert A. Orkies and Sheila M. Orkies, both of whom
preceded him in death. He is survived by his younger sister, Jennifer Orkies-Radu, and his
brother-in-law, Ross Radu. Stephen's legacy continues through his nieces, Regan Mitchell,
London Radu, Megan Dadisman, and his nephew, Isaiah Hawthorne, who will carry his
memory in their hearts.
A proud banker, Stephen dedicated many years of his professional life to the financial
institutions of 5/3 & US Bank, where he was known not only for his intelligence and work
ethic but also for his sense of humor and caring nature. Colleagues and clients alike were
drawn to his witty remarks and genuine personality, which made every interaction a
delightful experience.
Stephen’s passions extended beyond his professional life; he was a passionate sports
enthusiast and a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Louisville Cardinals. His
excitement for sports was contagious, and he spent countless hours cheering on his teams
with friends and family, creating unforgettable memories in the process.
Known for his funny, witty, and intelligent demeanor, his caring spirit touched the lives of
many, and his kindness will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Whether through a heartfelt conversation or a well-timed joke, Stephen had a way of
making everyone feel special and valued.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Stephen's life on June 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM-
3:00 P.M, at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home. Located at 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville,
KY 40222. This gathering will be a time to share stories, reminisce, and honor Stephen.
