

Steven Cox, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on June 14, 2026. Born May 25, 1962, Steven will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection for the steady goodness he brought to the lives around him—through quiet generosity, faithful devotion, and a humor that could lighten even difficult days.
Steven graduated from Seneca High School in 1980 and later attended Western Kentucky University. Throughout his life, he was known as a hard-working and resilient man—thoughtful in word and deed, loyal to those he loved, and selfless in the way he showed up for others.
Steven’s interests reflected both curiosity and heart. He enjoyed technology, music, and time with family, and he especially loved camping with his church groups. He treasured traveling to Ormond Beach, Florida and took great joy in the teams and stories that brought people together—U of L Football and Basketball, the Indianapolis Colts, and the worlds of Doctor Who (both original and new series), Star Trek, and Star Wars. His love of music included a special admiration for the Beatles, especially Paul McCartney.
A devoted member of his church family, Steven was heavily involved with Buechel Park Baptist Church. He valued his Bible Study Group at Bon Air Tavern and was known for the compassionate, practical ways he helped people—offering time, attention, and support with sincerity and care.
Steven was preceded in death by his father Harold Wayne Cox; step-mother, Judy Cox; step-father, Carl Miller.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Miller Brown (Doug); his loving companion of 21 years, Theresa Wigginton; children, Cameron Cox (Melinda), Tara Cox (Timothy), Robert Thomas and Jessica Thomas; grandson, Logan Cox; and brother, Harold Wayne Cox, Jr. (Susan).
Steven will be laid to rest privately at Resthaven Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Bon Air Tavern (2817 Del Rio Pl #110, Louisville, KY 40220) a time will follow.
