Steven A. Wilson Sr.

Steven Allen Wilson, Sr., age 72, passed away on October 22, 2025. He was born on April 2, 1953, to Edward and Edith Myatt Wilson in Louisville, Kentucky. Steven was a proud veteran of the US Army. He spent 20 dedicated years serving our country, most of those as a drill sergeant, and was a loyal member of the VFW 1832 in Clarksville, Indiana. Once he retired from the military, Steven worked for the US Postal Service for many years before retiring. He was a gifted handyman, there wasn’t anything he could not fix (except refrigerators), and he enjoyed collecting rare and interesting coins. Above all, Steven loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving and dependable husband, father, and friend and he will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Steven is preceded in death by his two daughters, Bobbi Jo Burgess and Sherry Lynn Wilson; his siblings Frances Dumbaugh, Jimmy Wilson, Linda Billings, and Kenneth Wilson; and one great-grandchild, Joseph Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 30 years, Rebecca "Becky" Wilson; his children, Kim Hufford (Joseph), Steven Wilson, Jr.; son-in-law, William Burgess; 8 grandchildren, Kayla Wilson, Steven Wilson, III, Brittany Burgess, Sherry Payne, Jordan Hufford, Austin Barrett, Jaedan Hufford, and Brittany Brooks; 12 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Marilyn Spencer (Ray), Julie Hinton, Paul Wilson (Judy), Helen Houk, and Candella Wilson.

A visitation for Steven Wilson, Sr. will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Monday October 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Steven will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Steven’s name to the Hospice Care of Southern Indiana for their kindness and compassion.
