He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marie S. Peters.
He is survived by a son, Richard S. Peters (Ella); two grandsons, Jonathan Stewart Peters and Patrick B. Peters. He was one of fourteen children; survived by two brothers, Fred “Sugs” and Irvin Peters and one sister, Aline Daunhauer.
He lived life simply; enjoying 40 years of work at Oertel’s 92 and Falls City Breweries; spending time with his son, doting on his grandchildren and playing a good game of golf.
A service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
