Susan Lynn Bugg

A graduate of Iroquois High School, Susan brought spirit and dedication to all she did, including her time as a cheerleader. She later attended the University of Louisville, earning a degree in Nuclear Medicine—an early reflection of the steady compassion and generous heart that would define her life’s work.

Susan devoted her career to caring for others, serving with professionalism and kindness at St. Thomas Hospital (Nashville, TN), KODA, UofL Hospital, UPS, and most recently at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital as an ICU Case Manager. Throughout her years in healthcare, she was beloved not only for her skill and reliability, but for the warmth, consideration, and quiet generosity she extended to patients, colleagues, and friends. She is also remembered with gratitude as an organ donor who gave the gift of sight.

Susan is survived by her companion, Michael Martin; brothers, Mark (Debbie) Bugg and Steven (Betty Ann) Bugg; niece, Taylor (Tanner) Leach; nephew, Parker (Catherine Mitchell) Bugg; great-nephew, Carter; a host of extended family and friends; and her special work family at Norton Hospitals.

Susan’s life was marked by compassion, kindness, and a giving spirit—qualities that remain present in the many lives she touched and the love she leaves behind.
