He was a retired union carpenter for Philip Morris and had served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Merz; a son, Theo Merz Jr.; daughters, Mina Carol Ramsey, Lisa White and Teresa Bean; brothers, Phillip and Hank Merz; grandchildren, Michelle, Andy, David, Sean and Elizabeth; and a great-grandchild, Drew.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
