Ted served in the Navy during the Korean War. He returned to civilian life to start a business, marry and raise his children. A member of St.John’s Community Church, Ted was also involved in the duPont Manual Alumni Association and the Louisville Suburban Rotary Club.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Linda Heitzman (Greg) and Ted Hartmann, Jr. (Denise); granddaughters Claire Bishop (John), Tatum Cochran (Tanner) and Tarah Hartmann; great-grandchildren Calvin, Cash, Tilly, Simon and Collins.
Known for his spirit of generosity, ready smile and sense of humor, “Big Ted” will be sorely missed by family and friends. The family is especially grateful for the care of the staff at Belmont Village and Baptist Hospital Palliative Care.
