THERESA R. "SUGAR" SPALDING, 87, of Louisville, passed away Monday September 16, 2013 at Baptist Health. A native of Shelby County, she was the former Theresa Cissell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Leo Spalding, a grandson, Michael Leo Spalding Jr.; brothers, Joseph, Robert, and Edwin Cissell. She is survived by a son, Michael L. Spalding (Cathy); daughters, Joyce Stark, Angela McCubbins, and Barbara McCook (Jim); a sister, Mary Jane Keene (Sam); brother, Bernard Cissell (Rachel); grandchildren, Gina Burton, Donnie McCubbins (Sherron), Chris Stark, Bridget Rapson (Eric), Karma Spalding, Amy Tankersley (Jeremy), and Sarah Cummins (Rob); nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with interment to follow in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday. Online condolences may be left at www.archlheadysouthernfh.com.
