Thomas M. Cocke, 86, of Louisville passed away August 24, 2010 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on September 24, 1923 to the late Marshall Rhew and Minnie Viola Cocke. He was retired from Ford Motor Company a member of Northeast Christian Church and the Middletown VFW post. He was a Veteran serving in the United States Navy during WWII stationed in Guam on the most decorated ship the Enterprise.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Martha Reeves.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years , Ethel Hayse Cocke; children, Patricia Ann Higdon and Thomas E. Cocke and devoted daughter-in--law, Donna Cocke; two brothers, Robert Rhew and John Rhew; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday August 28, 2010 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 at the funeral home.
