

Tommy Lee Tillman was born February 8, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Edward Tillman Sr. and Mildred McCord Tillman. He received his education in the Nashville public school system and accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age. While in Nashville, he was a member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church. After relocating to Louisville, he joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he remained a devoted member.
A man of dedicated service, Tommy honorably served in both the United States Navy and the National Guard. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career and eventually retired from Philip Morris USA. He was also an integral member of The Healing Place, where he served as a sponsor and provided tremendous support to fellow recoverees.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Casandra; and two brothers, Randy and Edward Tillman Jr.
Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Debra Collett; his son, DeShawn Collett and wife, Kalia (whom he affectionately called his "daughter-in-law"); his daughter, Shawantae Collett; and two cherished granddaughters, Karli and Dawson Collett. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Fletcher and husband, Barry; his niece, Tara Tillman; and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am - 12:30pm on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Arch L. Heady - Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
