Tonya Lee Shirley

She was born January 1st, 1972, in Louisville, Kentucky to George and Brenda Shirley. Tonya was a loving mother, daughter, sister, Nanny, and friend. She devoted her life to her family. Tonya worked as a teacher’s assistant in Jefferson County School System. She worked with special needs children and enjoyed the time she spent working there. Tonya loved to sing. Above all, Tonya loved her grandchildren. She was patient, loving, and kind. She will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother; Brenda Shirley, and stepmother, Nonny Shirley.

Left to cherish her memory are her father, George Shirley; Son, Timothy Shirley (Candis); sisters, Rhonda Hawkins, Kristin Shirley, and Megan Drechsel (Bryan); brother, Matt Shirley; Grandchildren, Timothy (T.J.) Shirley Jr., Jaxon (Jax) Levi Klein, Kevin Dwayne Klein Jr., and Skyler Michael Klein.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association and American Heart Foundation.

All services are entrusted to Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery. Visitation will be held on February 8th, 2026, from 11:00am - 2:00pm. Funeral Service will follow starting at 2:00pm.
