Vernice was a member of Southern Hills Nazarene Church and a ceramist who taught others how to created beautiful pieces of art at the Southwest Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
Vernice is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Norma Kiper.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Joseph Johnson, children; Joey (Rebecca) Johnson and Melissa Johnson (David), grandchildren; Justin, Brandon, Ryan Johnson, Craig Veteto and Molly Sharer, great-grandchildren; Cole and Sophie Jo Veteto, siblings; Faye Casey, Harold Farmer, Joan Patton and Gary Farmer, brother-in-law; Bruce Kiper and best friend; Diane Dulaney.
