

It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Vincent Benedict Nelson Jr., a devoted father, brother, and son, who passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 78.
Born on June 18, 1946, to Vincent B. Nelson Sr. and Sandy J. Nelson, Vincent grew up with a strong sense of family and a passion for life. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard, embodying dedication, courage, and selfless service throughout his life.
Vincent was an avid Louisville Cardinal and New York Yankee fan, whose spirited love for his teams brought energy and excitement to every game day. He was also a passionate boater and fisherman, finding peace and joy on the water, and a gifted storyteller, captivating friends and family with tales that brought laughter, reflection, and a touch of his signature charm.
Above all, Vincent’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a loving father to his son, Thomas Nelson, and a beloved brother to Brian Nelson (Lisa), Jean Johnson (Greg), and Carol Tanner (Mike). He cherished the memories and bonds that shaped his life and always valued the importance of family ties. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew him.
Vincent is survived by his son, Thomas Nelson; his siblings, Brian Nelson, Jean Johnson, and Carol Tanner; nephews, Jason Harrington, Travis Webster, Brian Nelson II, and Alex Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent B. Nelson Sr. and Sandy J. Nelson, and also nephew Kerry Webster.
A celebration of Vincent’s life will be held on Saturday February 15th at 10AM, Sacred Heart Church, 1840 east 8th Street, Jeffersonville IN, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory.
Vincent Benedict Nelson Jr. leaves behind a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. His light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in his remarkable journey.
