Ginny was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of the Baldwin High School class of 1956, where she played the bells in the marching band. She earned her associates degree and then worked as a medical transcriptionist for over 40 years. She met her husband Frank in 1974, converted to Catholicism, and was a devout Catholic. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother of eight children. After Ginny retired, she continued to work as volunteer at Baptist East Hospital. Ginny played piano, was an avid reader, loved traveling, and was a force to be reckoned with at the bridge table. Ginny was a wonderful cook, and after a party or get-together, there was rarely any stuffed mushrooms left over. She was the happiest when surrounded by family while hosting holiday gatherings. She will be greatly missed.
Ginny is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Francis "Frank" J. Hartlage; her parents, William A. Monahan and Virginia Hamel Monahan; and a grandchild Michelle Hartlage.
She is survived by her children, Steve Hartlage (Frances), Sherry Salz (Larry), Mike Hartlage (Christie), Francis Hartlage, Jr (Lynn), Ron Hartlage (Joy), Beth Hartlage, Stevie Hartlage, and Daniel Hartlage (Alyssa).
