

Virginia Elizabeth Knop 85, passed away Tuesday evening at Westport Place. She was born, October 9, 1927 in Louisville, KY to the late Otto and Virginia Froman Knop. She attended St. Frances of Rome School, and graduated from Atherton High School. Her professional career spanned 45 years as a Graphic Designer with the old Consolidated Printing Co. She was a longtime member of St. Pius Church. She devoted her life to church, family, and her country.
She was preceded by her parents and 4 siblings; Richard, John, Otto, and Gladys Knop. Two of her brothers served in WW II, with one giving his life in the service of his country. Also preceded by her niece; Maria Long who died at the age of 12.
She is survived by her sister in law; Carolyn Hubbuch Knop, her 9 nieces and nephews; Cara (Richard) Boone, Brian (Ellen) Knop, Otto (Karen) Knop, Kurt (Crae) Knop, Donna (Dave) Long, Caroline, Tamara (Tom) DeMuth, Eric Knop, and Jennifer Knop. She also has 15 great nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held at 10 am Friday by Father Steve Pohl at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Thursday from 4-7 at Arch L. Heady at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road.
