She received her B.A. in chemistry from Spaulding University in 1947.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Shaughnessy, and their daughter, Joan Burchette.
She is survived by her children, Maureen Crick (Wilbur), Barry Shaughnessy (Kathy), Kit Shaughnessy, Michele Goullion (Lonnie), Brian Shaughnessy (Kim), Carmel Shaughnessy (Thomas) and Motz Shaughnessy (Becki). She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be conducted at 12 noon on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with Inurnment to follow at a later time in Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 10-12 on Thursday.
