Virginia Smith Tipps reached the end of a wonderful life at the age of 76. She was born in Weir, KY, outside of Greenville, the daughter of Earl and Opal Smith. She was a member of Expressway church of Christ and that was one of the greatest pleasures of her life. She was happiest when she was doing for others. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Roland Tipps, and by her parents. She is survived by four children: Leanne Bowles (Allen), Shanna Haygood (Greg), Troy Tipps (Marie) and Bethany Bingham (Jon). Fourteen grandchildren: Brandon (Emily) and Parker Bowles, Emily Meade (Justin); Jason, Amanda and Candice Haygood; Joshua, Anthony and Evan Tipps; and Morgan, Ethan, Reagan, Autumn and Celia Bingham, along with three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mona Griffin (Lee).Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 10 am to 8 pm Tuesday.
