Wally served in the U. S. Army, was a member of Meadow Hill Baptist Church and Fern Creek Masonic Lodge. He retired from G.E. after 34 years and was an avid race fan, especially DHR 12.
He was preceded in death by sons, James Lester and Steve Stewart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Wanda Lester; daughters, Marta Boswell (Kenny) and Carol Hadley (Daryl); grandchildren, Craig and Eric Boswell and Kyle Hadley; great-grandchildren, Justin, Hannah, Lane and Bailey Boswell and Carter Hadley; and siblings, Wilma Gaddie and Devon Lester (Patsy).
A service honoring the life of Wally will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home on Thursday at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in Wally's name to Meadow Hill Baptist Church playground fund.
