He was a past President of the Okolona Optimist Club, and was an avid square and round dancer. He also enjoyed camping, was an avid car enthusiast and owned over one hundred cars throughout his lifetime. He also enjoyed taking cruises with his wife Norma.
Walter is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Norma F. Raynor.
He is survived by his sons, Bob Raynor (Doris) and Roy Raynor (Charlene); grandchildren, Jeannie Howe, Michael Raynor, Amy Carraco, Rob Carraco and Rebecca Carraco; great-grandchildren, Catherine and Jennifer Howe, Kayla and Ashley Barnett, Chandler Carraco, Haven Sims, Henley Hallmark and Adalyn Carraco.
A celebration of Walter’s life will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday, March 28, 2013 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 and after 10 am the day of the service.
