Wanda J Johnson

Wanda J. Johnson (Price), 74, of Bardstown, Kentucky, passed away on April 2, 2026, at Aspen Alcove Assisted Living. Born on April 7, 1951, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, Wanda lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and deep love for her family.

Wanda worked for many years as a manager in the Sporting Goods department at Hillview Walmart and held several other retail positions throughout her life. She later earned her realtor license and worked with Paul Semonin Realtors, and also served as a teaching assistant in the Head Start program for Jefferson County Public Schools. She attended Fairdale High School and was a former member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church.

Wanda found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, traveling to Las Vegas, visiting gambling boats, and cheering on University of Kentucky basketball. She loved gardening and soaking up the summer sun.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jesse Johnson; her sister, Helen Sheldon (Price); and her parents, Elgin and Vertilee Price (Skaggs).

Wanda is survived by her sons Greg Johnson (Angela) and Tim Johnson (Emily); her grandchildren Riley, Autumn, and Lane; and her brother Leo Price (Theresa). She is also survived by brothers‑in‑law, a sister‑in‑law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jerry Munz, a devoted friend and companion, brought comfort, care, and companionship to Wanda in her later years, and his presence was deeply appreciated by her and her family.

Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 8519 Preston Highway, on April 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Highway, on April 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery, 800 Mt. Holly Road, Fairdale, KY 40018.
