Wardie Ellen Cain Sanders

Wardie Ellen Sanders, 85,of Louisville, passed away on the afternoon of January 26, 2012 with her son by her side. She was a native of Edmondson County, KY., and born to John M. and Ida Cain, one of 7 children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hillard, Dillard, Millard and Bill, along with her only sister, Opal Smith.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Norman L. Sanders and a brother, John M. Cain, Jr. Her extended family includes Martha and Johnny Hodge, Vickie Stow, Bob and Mary Bremm, Sheri, Glen and Kenzie Taylor, and Jamie, Angie, Tiffany and Braxton Hill, along with several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Wardie retired from General Electric and was a member of Second Chance @ Life, Louisville, KY. She loved working the organ donor booth during the state fair, working word search puzzles, and in her younger years fixing Sunday dinner for family and friends.

Wardie's Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and Monday after 10 am till service time.
