

Wen-Hwa married Shu-Chi Yen on December 5, 1955 and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a Chemical Engineering degree and then furthered his education at the University of Louisville, where he received a Master’s Degree in 1967. Wen-Hwa had a long career as a chemical engineer, first at Taiwan Fertilizer Company and then at CCI-United Catalysts for over 25 years in Louisville. He had a lifelong passion for photography and international travel, visiting and photographing all of the major continents including Russia, South America, Egypt, Australia and Canada. His favorite was Switzerland and the Swiss Alps. He enjoyed taking his family on vacations in many of the United States national parks.
Preceding Wen-Hwa in death was his daughter, Loulee Yen Haga in 2016. He is survived by his wife; Shu-Chi Yen, his sons; John Yen, Tim Yen, and James Yen, his grandchildren; Stephanie Yen, Matthew Yen, and Emma Yen Haga, and his son-in-law; Eric Haga.
A funeral service to celebrate Wen-Hwa’s life will be held on Saturday, December 9 at 4pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road, with a visitation gathering from 2pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to Wen-Hwa’s church, Louisville Taiwanese Presbyterian Church, 2501 Rudy Lane, Louisville, KY 40207.
