Wilbert J. (Wib) Wilson passed away at home the morning of September 3, 2020 at the age of 97. He was born in Louisville Kentucky on May17, 1923 to Emma Augusta and Willie Ferris Wilson, and graduated from Manual High School in 1941. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Signal Corps. He married Margaret Marie Bowling on January 17, 1948. They were married 64 years. After returning from the war, Wilbert worked for South Central Bell for thirty-eight years. In retirement, he was an avid walker. In addition, he began gardening and maintained a high interest in it up until his passing, with green beans and tomatoes being his favorite items to grow.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Margaret “Peg” in 2012. He was also pre-deceased by Brothers Raymond, Charles, Stanley and Kenneth as well as Sister, Hazel and two infant brothers.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Larry(Kathie) Wilson and Keith (Nancy) Wilson; along with five grandchildren, Laurie Farlow, Jennifer Allgood, Marty Wilson, Lance Wilson and Stacy Deren; and four great grandchildren.
