

William Everett Allen, age 81, passed away on Monday, October 26 in Palm Harbor, Florida. He was born on December 2, 1938 in Warsaw, Kentucky and was a graduate of DuPont Manual High School. Bill attended the University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering and was active in the advanced Air Force ROTC program. He married Shirley Ann Miller in 1964 and they enjoyed 53 years together.
Bill was a mechanical engineer that spent most of his career in the industrial pollution control and conveyor industry. He held estimating and application engineering positions at Logan Company, American Air Filter, Trane, Sandvik-Seamco and Lesco.
He had a passion for science and technology, primarily aviation and transportation. He enjoyed building model aircraft and hobby projects on his cars. His biggest smiles came from sharing stories about his experiences with planes and cars.
Bill is survived by his sister, June Carol Balthrop, his son Michael (Lara) and three grandchildren: Charley, Caleb and Hadley Allen of Palm Harbor, Florida.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley Allen and his parents, Charley and Mary Allen.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in honor of Bill to the American Diabetes Association.
