He was a graduate of Flaget High School, a retired Chemical Operator at BF Goodrich and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. His favorite pastimes were playing the ponies and watching TV sports, as well as a loyal UofK basketball fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willliam and Mae Barker; sisters, Jeanette Olson Doris Hensley and Eloise Eichler; and niece, Daphne Olson.
Survivors include his 13 nieces and nephews, David, Donald, Dane, (Becky), Danny, (Jill), Darrell, (Tracy) Olson, Glen, Greg, (Louise), Steve, (Virginia), Susan Hensley, Debby Rubles, (Les), Diane Olson, Deanna Barker, (Danny) and Denise Edge, (David).
His Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 5505 New Cut Rd. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd.
