

Born in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, June 10, 1962, Bill was the son of the late William Maxie Bastin, Sr. & Helen Kulp – Bastin, who survives. Bill was an Operations Specialist with Dynacraft. He served his nation with pride and honor in the United States Army. He enlisted in Louisville in December of 1981. He was assigned to the 81st Maintenance Company, where he served overseas and was stationed in Hanau, Germany for a period of time. During his military service he was a Fuel and Electrical Systems Repairer and received the Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and was a Marksman with a rifle. He was discharged with Honorable service in November of 1985.
Bill had a huge work ethic. He was always willing to help others, putting them before himself. He was dedicated, resilient and a fighter. He had a passion for motorcycles and was a simple man who protected his family. He was a loving son, dad, papaw, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed.
His father, William Maxie Bastin, Sr., precedes Bill in his passing.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Cassaundra Bastin; grandson, Akahai Litsey; mother, Helen Bastin; sister, Cindy (Greg) Trent; nephew, Kealind Trent; his loyal companion, Star; several aunts, uncles and cuzz’s; plus, a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the Heady Memorial Chapel of the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel. Bill will be laid to rest in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky following the Funeral Service. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and then again on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Hour also at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel.
