He was a retired Major with the Jefferson County Police Department and an Army Veteran.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Howard and a sister, Linda Kennedy.
He is survived by his children, Lynn Moore, Susan Kohler (Mike) and William R. Howard (Laura). Siblings, Nancy Daugherty and Phyliss Desmit-Howard, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren,as well as many other extended family and friends.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 3pm - 8pm Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11am on Monday December 29, 2025 at Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2042 Buechel Bank Rd. Louisville, KY 40218. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
