

Born on October 20, 1932, in Dant Station, KY, he lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication, humor, and love.
William honorably served his country in the United States Army for two years, after which he began a lifelong career as a sheet metal worker at Local 110, showing an unyielding commitment to his craft for 73 years.
He possessed a quick wit that filled any room with laughter, and he was known amongst friends and family for his jokes. William's passions included boating on Taylorsville Lake and relaxing at Driftwood at Panama City Beach, FL. A lover of country music, he held a special place in his heart for the tunes of George Jones.
William was preceded in death by his loving spouse Glenda Mills, his parents Brownie and Pauline Mills, and his sisters, Norma Curella and Sharon Preuss. His memory will live on through his children, Scott Mills (Aleigha), Bill Mills (Patty), and Dawn Yakimovicz (John); his grandchildren, Scott W. Mills, Aaron Mills (Abby), Sabrina Mills, among four others; and his 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Pat Scherer and Jake Mills, who will remember him for the happiness and humor he brought into their lives.
William will be deeply missed, yet his legacy will continue to resonate through the stories told and the lives he touched with his unwavering spirit and heartfelt laughter.
A visitation for William will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service will occur Monday, November 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel, 5505 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, Kentucky 40291. A committal service will occur Monday, November 25, 2024 at 11:30 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
