

WILLIAM C. WHEAT, 80, of Mt. Washington, KY, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at his home. He was a 13 year Army Veteran during the Korean War and had received the Purple Heart. He was a Chef at Audubon and New Albany Country Club and the Louisville Boat Club. He retired from the United States Postal Service.He was a member of Knights of Columbus, VFW and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was a volunteer at the Franciscan Shelter House in preparing meals.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles N. and Georgia L. Wheat; his sisters, Louise Holsclaw, Doris Oberhausen, Mary Margaret Scarborough and Helen Schultz; brothers, Charles, Earl and Robert Wheat.Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Anna L. Dages Wheat; his children, Daniel L. Wheat (Donna), David A. Wheat , Larry J. Wheat (Doris), Phillip M. Wheat (Gail), Monica A. Wheat and Jeanne M. Stone (Daryl); grandchildren, Amy, Christen, Jason, James, Brittney, David, Nick, Taylor, Hailee, Sydney, Tyce, Tam and Patrick; and great grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, Zak, Jordan, Zane, Hannah, Adrianna, Olivia, Malik and Shelby; sister, Sr.Carolyn Ann Wheat.A mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 155 Stringer Lane, with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum.Visitation at Arch L.
