To the family of Willie,  Your dad was an awesome man and a good friend to many people.  He gave our teenage son a job at Iroquois Pizza when it was on Taylor blvd. and he always was patient with him.  We ran into him about a year ago at Golden Corral and he ate with us as always we enjoyed talking with him.  May God give you all comfort and peace in the loss of your dad!  We will miss him. I patronized Willie's restaurant at Taylor Blvd and Bluegrass Ave. in the 1990's. Willie would usually stop by the table and chat. He was friendly and personable. He was open and up front about his past demons and honestly shared his inspiring testimony. 
 
As a businessman Willie was an asset to the South Louisville business community and neighborhood. As a person he was a blessing and benefit to those he befriended, mentored and encouraged in their battles against alcohol and gambling addiction. His advocacy against these addictions will have a positive lasting influence on many individuals for generations.
 
I liked Willie and found him to be an incredibly decent man. His family can be proud of his legacy. May he rest in peace. God bless his family.

Willie T. I loved you like a father, seemingly you loved me like a son back. Why you stuck with me those 4.5 years I struggled in and out of GA. It came down to one simple sentence! "I always thought there was hope for you"  I have held that statement to me in my heart for 13 years now. CLEAN from gambling! i miss our talks, about life, loves, careing and surrender.  You were the greatest sponsor a bum like me could ever have. Thank you for saving my life, thank you for being a man of courage and hope. 
Drinking and gambling were removed by God's grace. You showed others a new freedom also. Say hi to Jack, Red, and Chuck for me. Love you Willie.

I knew Willie for most of my life, he will be greatly missed, he was loved by so many. I never knew he was born on July 21st, and I will remember him every time my daughter has a birthday.
