Winston Anthony Heron Sr. was born in 1941. He departed this earth on the 21st of February, 2022. He was the second of five siblings born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, where he was trained as an electrician before immigrating to the United States. He served three years in the U.S. Army, during which he applied for and received U.S. citizenship before being honorably discharged of service. During his tour of duty in the Army, he met his wife to whom he was marred to for over 52 years.
Winston was a devoted husband and family man. He loved people, and was always willing to help others. He was a vital part of the Jamaican Association of Louisville, Kentucky. While serving as the planning committee chairman, Winston was employed at the GE Appliance Park here in Louisville where he worked for thirty-two years before retirement.
Winston is survived by his wife, four children, a daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and two sisters. He additionally was blessed with a host of cousins and other extended family members here in the United States and abroad.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 11-2 PM with a celebration of Winston's life to follow at 2:00 PM, all at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218. Winston will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Winston will always be remembered for his friendly personality, generosity, and a deep and abiding affection for his fellow man. His family will always be supported by the love and care he provided them.
Rest in God's loving arms Winston. You will always have a place in our hearts.
