Becky was born September 17, 1968, to Louis and Mary Vath; she was the youngest of nine children. She was raised in Sutherland, Nebraska where she graduated from Sutherland High School. Becky moved to Grand Island where she attended college and shortly after the birth of her daughter, Tiffany, the two of them made their way to Loveland, CO staying with Becky’s sister Rita. Loveland is where she would call home the remainder of her life and where her son, Alex was born.
Becky was a dedicated mother and sacrificed everything for her children. As a single mother, she worked hard for everything she had but the greatest gift she gave her children was unconditional love. Becky was an active parent up to her remaining days on earth. She volunteered her time with their activities when they were younger and as adults, she made sure they gathered for a meal and family time as often as they could. In 2020 Becky became a grandma and the love she had for her grandson was unmeasurable. Although her time was short as a grandma, she had an unbreakable bond with Sam, and he kept her heart full of joy. Becky taught her children and grandchild to live a humble life and that family, faith, and treating others with kindness is all you need.
Becky was a true servant of God and just as Jesus, she showed compassion and love in everything she did. She was a devoted Catholic and her home parish was St. John's the Evangelist in Loveland, CO. Becky volunteered as a confirmation teacher, and you could often find her helping in the kitchen. She also attended classes for several years to expand her knowledge of her faith and she loved her church family with all her heart.
Becky’s passion to serve others went beyond her family and faith. She was a foster parent to youth for many years. She opened her arms and home to the children and gave them structure, attention, and showed them that they were not alone. Becky also served others when she became a caregiver for the elderly. She was a tender-hearted caretaker and the families of the loved ones she cared for noted Becky’s kindness, gentle-loving nature, spiritual comfort, compassion, dedication, and devotion. She has been told she is “an angel that walks among us” and she “walks the path of Christ”.
Becky will also be remembered by her love for cooking and music. She was an amazing cook who spent much of her free time in the kitchen. Becky also loved to play the piano and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music. She adored going to the symphony and opera and would often sit her grandson on her lap as she played the piano.
Becky’s warm smile and contagious laugh will be missed. Her selflessness and compassion for others will be a great loss. She was truly an angel on earth.
She was preceded in death by her father Louis and mother Mary, and her siblings Louis LeRoy, Michael ‘Heavy”, and Phyllis Brush; and nephew Robert “Bobby” Vath Jr. and niece Rebecca Vath.
Becky is survived by her children Tiffany Beisner, Alexander Beisner, and Shannon Beisner; her grandson Samuel Renshaw and granddaughters Brittney and Heather Shafer; siblings and their spouses, Rita and Dennis Boyer, Robert and Janet Vath, Mary Lou and Berdell Beisner, Peggy and Kent Lenz, and Nancy Vath and Bill; 14 nephews and nieces; 32 great-nephews and great-nieces; and many other family members.
A traditional Catholic Rosary and Mass will be held to honor Becky’s life at St. John's, 1730 W 12th St, Loveland, CO 80537. The Rosary will be held on Wednesday, December 1 at 5:00 p.m. and the Mass will be on Thursday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. The service on Thursday will be livestreamed. Becky will be buried in Sutherland, NE next to her parents and siblings. The graveside service and burial will be held Monday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Sutherland Riverview Cemetery.
