Bernadine Ann Namanny, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Good Samaritans in Loveland, Colorado. She was born in 1930 to the late James and Mary Vopat in Seneca, South Dakota. She attended Rice Lake Country School (Union township) for eight years. The next four years were spent at Highmore High School. She graduated in 1948. She attended Presentation College for a year in 1949. She was united in marriage to the late Robert “Dutch” Namanny in Pierre, South Dakota. To this union 3 children were born Dianne, Janet and Robert Jr. Bernadine and Dutch owned and operated Namanny’s Café in Highmore, South Dakota for 20 years. During this time many trips were taken with the highlight being the inauguration of President Lyndon B. Johnson in Washington DC. The restaurant was sold in 1970 and they moved to Loveland, Colorado. She worked at Hewlett Packard for 20 years until she retired.
Bernadine is preceded in death by her daughter, Dianne and infant son, Robert, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Boschee; granddaughters, Andria Boschee, Lindy Carlson; and grandsons, Jay Boschee and Eric Hopkins.
Memorial Services will be held in Highmore, South Dakota at a later date.
