Charles was born July 31, 1945 to parents Byron and Dorothy (Flanders) Simon in Hayden, Colorado. Growing up he attended school in Moffat County. Charles spent several years living and working in the Denver area, he also spent time in Meeker, San Antonio, Texas, and eventually finding his way back to Craig.
Charles loved the outdoors, he spent a lot of time in the Brown's Park area rock hounding, fishing, and always searching for the perfect juniper wood to make lamps and water features.
Charles is preceded in death by both parents, sisters Mary, May, and Dorothy. He is survived by brothers George and Douglas, sons Troy, Todd, Gary (Michelle E), and Jeff (Michelle). He is also survived by many grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026 at Allnutt Funeral Service, Hunter Chapel.
