

Daniel Aloysius Connelly passed away on October 28, 2018. Born on December 21, 1926 in New York City, his family came from Ireland in the 1800’s. His family moved to upstate New York and he was raised on a farm where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his pony with his brother and sister. This is where he met the love of his life, Kathryn, and they were married on September 19, 1948. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary together. He was a WWII and Korean War veteran in the Navy. His time during WWII was as a nose gunner on a B17 and he was on the aircraft carrier, Franklin D. Roosevelt, as a gunner during the Korean War. Before retiring he was an executive with IBM which brought him and his family to Colorado. At that time, he became active with 4H and various horse clubs showing the Appaloosa horses he so loved with his daughter, Debbie.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his children, Bill Connelly (wife Maryann), Donna Palinkx (significant other Heinz) and Debbie Fredrickson. He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Florence Connelly, his brother John Connelly, his sister Florence Lees and son-in-law, John Fredrickson. He was a very special Grandpa to 6 granddaughters; Amy VanAntwerp (husband Michael), Elisha Bogott (significant other Jake), Kelly Micklich (husband David), Anna Connelly, Emily Hosanna (husband Garrett) and Ivy Connelly (husband Matthew). He felt so blessed to have 4 great grandchildren; Ellison Daniel Hosanna, Memphis Hudson Belcher, Destanie Dettmann (husband Cody) and Kate Annan.
