Deborah Michelle Dungan

Deborah Michelle Dungan, 54, of Windsor, CO passed away in the company of her husband and children on October 26th, 2021. She was born on July 24th, 1967 in Lima, Peru to Tom and Linda (Lytle) Potter. She lived an adventurous childhood unknown to most her age, her family moved from her birthplace in Peru to Uruguay to the Ivory Coast all before the age of 9. They returned to Lincoln after her mother was found terminally ill with breast cancer. She graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1985.

She moved to Colorado in 1986 where she settled and established her family. After working as a travel agent for several years she became a full-time homemaker. In addition to being a devoted mother to her two sons, she contributed to her community by volunteering with several non-profits, including Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Gathering Place, and Project Angel Heart. She was proud to return to school and earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, graduating summa cum laude in 2007.

Debbie moved to Ft. Collins after her children moved away for school. She built a cabin with her husband Andrew and spent time divided between Colorado and Upper Whitefish Lake, Minnesota with their three dogs. She continued to volunteer her time in northern Colorado, working in exceptionally difficult circumstances including as a court-appointed special advocate for children in abuse and neglect cases and as a hospice care assistant providing companionship to terminally ill patients.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Andrew Dungan; step-mother Harriet Potter; brother Christopher Potter; step-siblings Chuck (Sandra) Randolph and Linda (Michael) Spurrier; former spouse Rick and sons Reed and Kohl Kinning; step-children Chandler (Blake) Gebhardt and Jackson Dungan; niece Rozlynn (Michael) Dibbern and nephew Conner Randolph; nephew Cameron Spurrier; and nephews Lyon Alsip and Atticus Potter.

Debbie made it clear in the event of her passing she wished to be remembered with a celebration of her life. The event will be held Saturday, November 13th, 2021 from 3:00-7:00pm at The Big Red Barn at Highland Meadows Golf Course, 6300 Highland Meadows Pkwy, Windsor, CO 80550.
