Don was truly one of the good guys.   Mentor, friend, and coach.  It wasn't that long ago that he sent me a wonderful note that I will cherish forever.   It's now on my bookcase, which is a fitting place to be.  You will be missed my friend.    My deepest condolences to the family.  

It was my pleasure and privilege to serve as Don's literary agent over the course of 15 years. He was a fine writer, hard-working, consummately professional, always delivering on time, and a good-humored, generous colleague. I miss him already.
