Edward was born February 22, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son to Orlo and Emma (Cejka) Carpenter.
On June 23, 1956, he married his wife Hettibel (Krizek) in Marion, Iowa and they've been faithfully married for the last 68 years.
Edward loved drag racing, a hobby he enjoyed with his son and adopted grandson. He also loved attending car shows. Rain or shine, in sickness and in health, he would always find the time and energy to make his way to any car show he could find.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Orlo and Emma, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Moser.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Hettibel; daughter, Katharine Carpenter; sons, Edward Carpenter Jr. (wife Linda) and Albert Carpenter; grandchildren, R.J. Moser (wife Molly) and Jacob Cundiff; great-grandchildren, Everett Moser and Miles Moser; sister, Pat Carpenter; and many other friends and family who will miss him dearly.
