Elaine Devenney

Elaine Caroline Devenney, 88, of Loveland, CO died October 9th, 2020, at Brookdale Mariana Butte in the care of Pathways (Hospice) after a short battle with Alzheimer’s. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final days. Elaine was born February 29th, 1932, in Graf, NE, to Charlie & Minne Hopp. Elaine married William S. Devenney on November 25, 1950 in Tecumseh, NE. After several moves from Nebraska, California, Colorado, & Indiana, Elaine & William finally settled down in Loveland, CO in 1977. Singing was a great passion of hers. Elaine was an active member of the Loveland Coral Society during the 80s. She was an excellent seamstress as well as enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, and baking for her family and friends. Elaine is preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Devenney; her husband, William Devenney; her son, Alan Devenney; her daughter, Annette Devenney, her parents Charlie & Minnie Hopp; and her sister Delores Klein. She is survived by her daughter’s; Carol (Mark) Lorenz of Burr Ridge, IL; Barbara Devenney of Loveland, CO; grandchildren Nicole Lorenz, Phillip (Jillian) Lorenz, & Christopher Hieb of Chicago, IL; and Casey (Dustin) Wareham of Loveland, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, & great-grandchildren throughout the country. A private family internment will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens Funeral & Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice at 305 Carpenter Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80525; or Zion Lutheran Church at 815 E 16th St, Loveland, CO 80538

Dear Barbie and Carol and families of Elaine,
So sad to hear of Elaine. Heaven gained a beautiful soul, and earth will sadly miss her. Always so kind, always so much fun. We all will miss her!

My heart is hurting for your family. I will always remember special gatherings at Elaine's house in the back yard. She was a great entertainer and always made me feel like family. She was a wonderful woman. I am so sorry for you all. I am sending lots of love and hugs and will be praying for peace and healing.

I am so sorry to hear of Elaines passing. I will always remember her putting my kids on her shoulders and running around Nora’s house! She was always so positive and fun. I loved her energy and her beautiful soul. Heaven just got sweeter with her presence.
