Gene led a remarkable life filled with love, dedication, a passion for speed, and faith in his Lord Jesus Christ.
Gene was a beloved husband, son, brother, stepfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, whose impact on the lives of those around him will be cherished forever.
His deep love for his beloved mother, Sylvia Boxford/Rutt, and his beloved wife, Jeannie Boxford, was well known and felt by all who knew him. Gene's legacy is one of deep affection and unwavering commitment and devotion to his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Boxford; his mother, Sylvia Boxford/Rutt; his brothers, Bob Boxford, Kenny Boxford (Chris), and Garry Boxford; his nephew, Michael Harper; and his infant nephew, Joshua Boxford.
Gene leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 19 years, Jeannie Boxford; his mother-in-law Gailyn Overman (and Jeannie's family); his sister Charlene Lively; his brother Danny Boxford (Kathy); his stepchildren: Wade Boxford (Tamara), Alissa Volpe (JP), and Lynette Kiehn (Jared); his nieces and nephews: Tina Cater (Keith), Tammy Williams (Zack), Rebecca Boxford, Steffin Boxford (Mandy), Cody Boxford, and Jeff Harper (Casey); also his step-grandchildren: Justin Boxford (Baylee), Madison Boxford (Brendan), Joshua Snyder, Abigail Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Kaydence Boxford-Dibisasio, Brooklyn Kiehn, and Callie Kiehn; step great-grandchildren - Charlotte & Jett Boxford; and dear Aunts & cousins.
Gene's love for racing was evident from a young age. He started with a Plymouth Roadrunner, then his 1967 Mustang, and continued up to Sept 2023 with his 2014 Ford Flex, affectionately called "The Tuxedo", which he enjoyed being 'tuned for speed'. Weekend getaways with his brother Danny, step-son Wade, and nephew Cody, and other special team members, were highlights of his later years, showcasing his love for fast cars and perfect light take-offs.
His profession was being a master locksmith in Loveland, Colorado, with over 45 years of experience, and very numerous loyal customers. Gene took immense pride in his work. He began his career at Dave's Lock & Safe, and later founded his own company, All About Locksmithing, where he and Jeannie worked side by side. Gene was dedicated to his customers (many became friends), always going above and beyond to provide the best service possible. He shared his knowledge and passion for locksmithing with his family, teaching his brothers, stepchildren, and nieces and nephews the art of the trade. It broke his heart to have to sell the company in June 2023, due to his health. He loved his work and his customers.
Gene was known for his meticulous nature and servant's heart. He cared deeply for his family, home, life, and everyone in it, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. His legacy of love, dedication, and perfectionism will be remembered and honored by his family and friends.
Gene had/has personal trust in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4; Ephesians 2:8-9) and found peace in knowing that he would be eternally in Heaven with his Lord when he passed from this life. This faith provided him comfort and strength throughout the latter years of his life, including his final days. His faith is now sight.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was a part of Gene's life and memories. They invite those who knew Gene to share their stories and condolences by emailing [email protected], or at Allnutt Funeral Home's website.
Though there will not be a public service; a private family service will be held to honor Gene's memory.
Gene Boxford was a special man who was adored by most everyone, and whose life touched so many. He will be deeply missed, loved, and remembered always.
