Hank grew up in Denver’s Washington Park neighborhood and attended South High School. From an early age he developed the adventurous spirit that would define much of his life. He loved the outdoors and could often be found racing kayaks, skiing moguls in the mountains, or riding dirt bikes across Colorado’s backcountry. He was also an avid reader and lifelong learner.
Hank served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he built a long and respected career with Xcel Energy, where he worked for 40 years. During his career he helped design, construct, and manage many electrical substations across Colorado’s Front Range, contributing to the infrastructure that powers communities throughout the region.
Hank shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda Sue Walsmith. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Jo Delcau; his son-in-law, Rabbi M. Robert Delcau; and his granddaughter, Lili Sue Delcau.
Hank will be remembered for his giving nature, adventurous spirit, his strong work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family.
