Obituary of James Lee Arvidson
James Lee Arvidson May 20, 1946 - Sept. 14, 2022 James Lee Arvidson, 76, of Loveland passed away suddenly at his home on Sept. 14, 2022. Jim was born in May, 1946, to Marj and Dick Arvidson in Des Moines, Iowa. Shortly thereafter, the family (with older brother Jerry) relocated to Denver, Colorado. Jim graduated from St. Francis High School in Denver in 1964. He attended Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction and finished his education at CSU in Fort Collins, with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1969. He became a certified appraiser in 1975. During this time, Jim was married and had a daughter, Rachel. Jim enjoyed remodeling old houses, driving old cars, wooden antiques, and caring for abandoned and wild animals and pets that he tended to every day. In June, 2001, Jim married Kelley Bishop, and they built a home west of Loveland where Jim resided until his death. Jim is survived by his wife, Kelley; siblings Joann (Doug) Decker, Jeanne (Joe) Young, Mary (John) Gurtler, Paul (Cindy) Arvidson, Daniel Arvidson, Rick (Kara) Arvidson, and sister-in-law Mary Arvidson; and daughter, Rachel (John) Allison. Jim's many nieces and nephews and their children brought many happy memories, and all enjoyed great family reunions at Jim's cabins on the Big Thompson River. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Arvidson and Margaret Arvidson, and brother Jerome Arvidson. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Allnutt Hunter Chapel in Loveland on Friday, Sept. 23rd at 1 pm, followed by burial at Loveland Burial Park.
