Janet Louise Boettger

Janet was born February 23, 1948, to Walter and Gladys “Louise” (Jeffery) Stumpf in Spearfish, SD and grew up on the family farm in Arpan, SD. She attended Newell High School, class of 66’, where she took part in numerous extracurricular activities including the Pep Club, the Lateral Staff and the Varsity Debate Squad to name a few. She was especially proud of being crowned Queen of the Homecoming Royalty during their coronation assembly. Following high school, she received a college education at Karl Johns Cosmetology Beauty School in Rapid City, SD.

On November 27, 1971, she married Jerome “Jerry” Boettger and soon after moved to Loveland, CO. Together, they had two children, Jason and Jeremy. After many years raising their children, she entered the workforce as a childcare preschool teacher at Kids Harbor and Sunshine House where she provided 25 years of service.

Janet will be remembered for her quiet gentle soul, helping her sons navigate through difficult times in life, calling Phillipe, a foreign exchange student that Janet and Jerome hosted, a son of her own and for the overwhelming love she had for her grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening, and watching and cheering on her favorite football team the Denver Broncos.

She will be missed for her lunch dates with her son Jason, where they would share stories and reminisce about old memories and for their annual Mother’s Day flower shopping. She will be missed for her weekly coffee get-togethers with her son Jeremy where they would discuss the ups and downs of life and the uncertainties of what the future holds.

She was a person who taught us to live with an unregretful passion for life, to love unconditionally, and, most importantly, to fight when life gets hard.

Janet is survived by her two sons, Jason of Ft. Collins and Jeremy of Loveland; Jeremy’s wife Kelly, and their children Sienna and Mollie. She is also survived by two siblings, Walterly of El Paso, TX and Larry and his wife Gerry of Nisland, SD and numerous nephews and nieces. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Louise Stumpf and Brother-in-Law Stanley Jackson, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
