Jean Ann Jones

Ann pursued higher education at Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University. Her professional career included serving as a Food Service Manager for Milan Area Schools, working as a registered dietician at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, and teaching as a Clinical Instructor at Washtenaw Community College.

In August 1957, Ann married Ethan “Pete” Jones in Grand Rapids, and the couple made their home in Milan, Michigan. During her years there, Ann was actively involved in the community. She participated in P.E.O. and an investment club and supported Pete in his business endeavors. She was a dedicated member of Peoples Presbyterian Church, where she served faithfully as church treasurer.

Following Pete’s passing in 2003, Ann relocated from Michigan and divided her time between Florida and Colorado. In both places, she continued her passion for service and volunteer work.

While in Florida, Ann was a devoted member of Roser Memorial Community Church. She served as a deacon, contributed to the mission committee, and helped organize volunteers and served at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, packed seeds for Hope Seeds, and volunteered at the Roser Church Thrift Shop. Her commitment extended to her P.E.O. chapter, where she served as treasurer and contributed to scholarship committees. Ann also supported women's education through her involvement with AAUW scholarships.

In Colorado, Ann continued her involvement in P.E.O. through the summer group and volunteered at the McGregor Ranch gift shop. She also volunteered with Crossroads Ministry, where she packed food for them. She found great joy in spending time with her great-grandsons and their boundless energy.

Ann loved playing bridge several times a week, walking the beaches during her winters in Florida, hiking the trails of Colorado, and traveling with her daughter.

Surviving are her daughter, Lynn (Dennis) Stepaniak of Estes Park; granddaughter, Lauren Stepaniak of Estes Park, Kellie Stepaniak of Berthoud; and great-grandchildren, Wade and Owen.
