Born in New Milford, New Jersey on Valentine's Day 1935, she was the daughter of Carry Maria (Schlener) and Henry Phillip Mutz. Joan was the proud mother of four children and was blessed with the opportunity to stay home and care for them. Later in life, she worked as a bank teller for Wells Fargo. She loved her family, and she loved to dance. She will be dearly missed.
Joan is survived by her children Debbie Saunders (Ron), Linda Steele (Jerry), Laura Foote (Dana), and Bobby Sohn (Tricia); grandchildren Billy Rash (Angela), Christine Foote-Lucero (Juanita), Jeremy Steele, Jenn Wilson (Daren), Allison Doolittle (Matt), and Lisa Schinke (Matt); and great-grandchildren Tyler Sage (Tessa), Kris Sage, Ryan Wilson, Lilly Sage, Matthew Doolittle, Katie Doolittle, and Emmie Schinke; as well as a niece, Carol Holmes.
Per her wishes, no public services will be held. Her family will celebrate her life privately, as she would have wanted. Cremation entrusted to Allnutt Funeral Service - Hunter Chapel.
