Joanne (McGee) Sloan

Joanne passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Her Smile and kind heart will be sadly missed.

She was a wonderful soloist having performed as the lead with the Longmont High School Rythmaries on a California tour, Colorado Women’s College Choir, Colorado State University Choir and had been offered a soloist contract with a professional jazz band which she declined as her greatest desire was to be a mother. One of her joys in life was singing to praise her Lord and Savior with “How Great Thou Art”.

Joanne loved being social belonging to many organizations including the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Kappa Delta Sorority at Colorado State University, Beta Sigma Phi International, Volunteer of Longmont United Hospital as well as her bridge club with beloved high school friends.

JoAnne was born in San Antonio, Texas to John and Beatrice (Frey) Eason and was welcomed by Robert, Archibald and Kathleen (Brinkoetter) Eason whom all have preceded her in death. She then became Joanne when she was adopted by David and Marian McGee of Liberal, Kansas who then raised her in Longmont, Colorado along with her adopted brother Michael McGee (deceased).

On March 15, 1959, Joanne married Ronald Sloan of Johnstown, Colorado. After many years of being a legal/church secretary, Homemaker, coaches wife and contributing to family businesses; she retired in Loveland and Johnstown, Colorado with her husband.

Joanne loved family and especially being a mother and grandmother. Her son, Robin, preceded her in death May 2016. She is survived by Ronald, her two children Troy and Stephanne (Turner); Grandchildren and their spouses Danielle (John Morris), Rachel (Stephen Zitek), Brandon, Nicholas (Dianne), Noelle (Cameron Johnston) her beloved cousin Barbara Layman, much loved sister-in-law’s Annabelle and Barbara as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She did have the great Joy of being a great grandmother to Meetra and Johnny.

Joanne’s Family has elected to have a private service at a later date and ask you to fondly remember her. She is with her Lord.
