Jon Michael Strain, 66, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away on March 8, 2026, at 8:40 p.m. Born June 22, 1959, in Pennsylvania, Jon will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him. After this introduction, he will be lovingly remembered as Jon.
Jon was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was one of six children. Humorous and patient, Jon carried a steady presence that made others feel at ease, and his warmth and good nature left a lasting impression on family, friends, and neighbors alike.
A skilled carpenter for 45 years, Jon took pride in honest work and the satisfaction of building with his hands. His dedication and craftsmanship reflected the same quiet reliability that defined the way he lived and cared for others.
On November 13, 1982, Jon married the love of his life, Maryann Evans. They first met in junior high, and though Maryann later moved away, the two rekindled their love after many years. Jon was a father of five, building a family grounded in commitment, loyalty, and love.
Jon found joy in the outdoors and in friendly competition. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, playing softball, and tending to his vegetable garden—simple pleasures that he embraced fully and shared generously with those around him.
He also gave his time to others through community involvement, coaching intramural softball and basketball and serving as a chaperone for scouting events. Jon’s steady encouragement and calm guidance were gifts to the young people he supported and to the families who benefited from his willingness to show up and help. As a final act of selflessness, Jon made a life changing donation to Donor Alliance.
Jon is survived by his wife, Maryann Strain; his mother, Kathleen Strain; his children, Timothy, Rebecca, Christopher, Jon, and Jacqueline; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Adrianna, and Caleb. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Strain, and his birth mother, Elizabeth Kirk.
