Joseph Paul Emard

December 26, 1949May 8, 2020

Joseph Paul Emard, 70, of Loveland, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2020 at home with his family by his bedside. Born in Detroit Michigan, and raised in Chicago, the son of the late Howard and Margaret Emard. Joseph or Joe to those who knew him best, moved his family of five to Loveland, Colorado in 1982 almost 40 years ago. He worked as a Master Refrigeration Technician, retiring in 2018.

Joe enjoyed playing music, riding bicycles, fishing, watching birds, and hunting. He was well known for his unique ability to play a variety of instruments, including banjo, dobro, fiddle, guitar, harmonica, and mandolin. He was often found grinin’ and pickin’ some bluegrass with his shirt unbuttoned, a cap on his head, and a dog at his side.

Surviving are his wife, Mary of 51 years; children, Randall (Dolly) Emard of Tulalip, WA, April Moran of Brooklyn, OH, Dawn (Blain) Hubbard of Arlington, WA; grandchildren, Brian, Justin, Timothy, Breanna, Brayden, and Madison; great-grandchildren Annabel and Ronin; 10 siblings; and his beloved four legged friends, Zelda and Precious.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers Howard and Stan Emard.

Family will gather for a celebration of Joe’s life later this summer. His military service will be honored at Fort Logan.
